Culinary Institute of America The CIA is in Hyde Park, NY minutes from Poughkeepsie and Rhinebeck in Dutchess County. The world renowned school for culinary arts has four famed restaurants that are open on a rotating schedule. American Bounty, Escoffier, Ristorante Caterina de Medici and St. Andrews Cafe as well as the Apple Pie Bakery Café. The café bakery is open Monday through Friday 7:30-6:30.
Appalachian Trail The Appalachian trail runs from Georgia to Maine and an entry point is located minutes from the B&B in Stormville, NY. 88 miles of the trail run through New York State and has a difficulty rating between a 2-5. This is a great trail hike, bird watching and nature hike.
Relax and Shop There are many great places to shop in the Hudson Valley but Millbrook, NY has the best blend of antiques, cafés, and boutique shopping.
