Dutchess County's, Bykenhulle House is an 1841 Georgian Manor House. Situated 60 miles north of New York City in the spectacular Hudson Valley, the 17 room house features a sun room and ballroom that can accommodate six Bed and Breakfast rooms and a reception for up to 125 guests. With the additional use of patio space, we have hosted receptions for plated dinners with up to 165 guests. The ballroom is surrounded by a brick patio with slate walkways that sweep you out to our professionally landscaped knot and perennial gardens which include two trellises, a gazebo, and a three tier water fountain. From April through October a mirage of annual and perennial flowers, herbs, shrubs, and ground covers fill the grounds with ongoing color. Our gardens are maintained year round and have been the stage for many photographers. After almost 20 years as our family home, The Bykenhulle House was established as a Bed and Breakfast in 1989 and continues to be family owned and operated. At the request of our guests the ballroom was built and our first wedding was held in 1994. Your Special Day Working with the Bykenhulle House and our caterer, we will customize a unique and memorable event for you and your guests. By choosing out team you also get wedding professionals that can act as your complimentary personal event planner. There are many options for ceremonies, cocktail hour, table settings, dancing, music, and bar set-up. We believe this day is about you and every detail should reflect your personality, taste, and theme. No two events are the same. Only one reception takes place on any given day so you can be assured you won’t be rushed on your special day. Most ceremonies and receptions last between five and six hours. We request that receptions begin no later than 3-4:00PM in the afternoon. Since we are in a residential area, we like to stop loud music around 9:00- 9:30PM. Rentals for the day include the additional tables and chairs in excess of 80 people. You customize your linens, place setting(plates,flat ware, glasses, napkins), and café tables in the rental order. This ensure that no two weddings will be the same. We have recommendation for area florists, photographers, bartenders, musicians and favors. The average sit down plated 6 hour ceremony and wedding starts at $125.00/person but please inquire about your event to get a specific quote.
B&B Reservations
Available to you are five large Bed and Breakfast rooms for your guests. Each room is uniquely decorated featuring a queen size bed, sitting area, cable television, telephone access, and a private bath. Two rooms have wood burning fireplaces and two suites have Jacuzzi tubs. Included with your room is a full breakfast in the formal dining room. Please inquire about renting the house for the weekend.
Catering Catering for Bykenhulle House events is provided by Ed Kowalski (Lola’s Café). He is a Culinary Institute of America graduate. Ed has been catering at the Bykenhulle House for over 10 years and has been recognized by many area organizations.
